Job Title: Administrative/Facilities Assistant - Full Time

Nanny’s Daycare is a family group daycare serving the town of Mastic, Long Island. We care for children ages 2 months to 12 years of age. We have a family-centered approach. As we grow our practice, we are hoping to bring people on board who embody this culture. 

Because we are a small, family-owned business, every role wears many hats. For this position, we are looking for someone to support the daily administrative tasks and facility maintenance.  

Responsibilities:

Administrative Support Functions

  • Correspond with parents, the Department of Social Services, the Child Care Union, the accounting team, other staff, and other relevant and partnering organizations via phone calls, mail, emails, faxes, letters, and in-person as needed 

  • Maintain filing systems both electronic and physical ensuring all forms are current per the Child Care Department of Social Services Database, and all staff training us current per state regulations

  • Prepare communications, such as memos, emails, invoices, reports (attendance, meal tracking), and other correspondence

  • Performs minor IT support as needed 

Facility Maintenance Functions

  • Oversee grounds maintenance 

  • Operates and maintains custodial functions.

  • Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.

  • Ensures that the facility is clean and maintained according to the site’s policy and procedures.

  • Manages and reviews service contracts.

  • Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections.

  • Checks completed work by vendors and contractors.

  • Recommends maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications.

  • Communicate workplace safety precautions to employees.

  • Forecasts, allocates, and supervises the financial and physical resources of the facility management

  • Maintain ongoing communications with contractors, clients, and staff 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent 

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • 1+ years experience working in business operations   

  • Tech-savvy and IT skills are preferred 

  • Well organized, and detail-oriented

  • Great customer service and communication skills

  • 2+ Reference Letters

  • Of note: Because this is a child care center, a clean criminal record is a must. A background check will be conducted as part of the hiring and onboarding process. 


Compensation/Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 35 hours Full Time
Meals are provided  `
$15/hr
